In 2016 Ukraine increased sugar export 5 times

During 2016 Ukraine exported granulated sugar made of sugar cane and sugar beet for $230.4 million total, which is almost five times more than in 2015 ($46.7 million).

The information is taken from the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine database.

It is noted that the largest importers of Ukrainian sugar in the past year were Sri Lanka ($40.0 million), Georgia ($24.5 million) and Tunisia ($15.4 million).

Also during 2016 Ukraine purchased sugar from the Netherlands ($9.5 million), Brazil ($8.9 million) and other countries ($ 0.9 million).
