Export of grain from Ukrainian seaports boosted 40% in March

In March 2018, 3.51 million tons of major grain crops were exported from the seaports of Ukraine, which is 40% more than the previous month, APK-Inform reports.

Corn showed the largest increase in shipments (80%) — 2.55 million tons. Shipments of barley in March increased by 11% and amounted to 69 thou. tons. Exports of wheat dropped from 1.04 million tons in February to 894 thou. tons.

Transbulkterminal is the leader in wheat transshipment in March with 101 thou. tons of grain. The maximum amount of corn (447 thou. tons) was exported by the company TIS. Illiechevsk Grain Terminal transshipped 39 thou. tons of barley.

The main importer of Ukrainian wheat in March is Morocco (180 thou. tons), barley — Saudi Arabia (39 thou. tons), corn — Egypt (579 thou. tons).

Reference: the seaports of Ukraine handled 10.09 million tons of grain cargoes in January-March, which is 107.06 thou. tons more than over the same period last year.
