Following the decision of the General meeting of shareholders of ASTARTA Holding N.V., Gilles Mettetal joined the Board of Directors as an independent director, the company informs.

He replaced Wladislaw Bartoszewski, who was the member of the Board since the IPO in 2006 and whose maximum term on this post was expiring in 2018.

Mr. Mettetal is a senior agribusiness advisor. Until June 2017, he was the Director of the Agribusiness and of the Property & Tourism Departments at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He has 30 years of international experience in financing agriculture, agribusiness and real estate corporate sectors, including the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) where he oversaw the identification and preparation of projects to be financed by major international financing institutions.

"It was Gilles, who was at the onset of the strategic cooperation of Astarta and EBRD which began over ten years ago. I am confident that he will bring to the company a new impetus and expertise that will contribute to its dynamic development," comments Viktor Ivanchyk, CEO and founder of Astarta-Kyiv.

In his comment, Gilles Mettetal notes that Astarta is one of the best Ukrainian agricompanies.

Earlier it was reported that on May 23 IFC signed loan agreements with Astarta-Kyiv.
