Ukraine to export only 8 mln tons of wheat — draft Memorandum

In MY2018/19, Ukraine may export only 8 million tons of milling wheat of I-V classes.

Such indicative annual volume of wheat exports of Group A and B (I-V classes) is specified in the draft "Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and participants of the grain market for MY2018-2019 (effective since 01.07.2018)", which Latifundist.com has the access to.

This volume also includes the export of wheat flour in grain equivalent. However, the figure in the Memorandum is not final, as it can be revised in January 2019 and/or at the request of the participants of the working group.

According to the latest forecast of the Agriculture Ministry, in this season grain producers will be able to harvest 24 million tons of wheat, including only 13 million tons (55%) of milling wheat. As a result, the millers advocated quotas for wheat exports of Group A and B, without which an increase in the cost of bakery products by at least 20% should be expected.
