Winter crops sowing campaign started in 17 regions of Ukraine

As of September 7, agrarians in 17 regions of Ukraine have started winter crops sowing campaign.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine informs that 136 thou. hectares are already covered which makes up 2% of the projected 7.2 million hectares.

Among the planted winter crops are wheat and triticale (129 thou. hectares out of 6.2 million hectares), rye (3 thou. hectares out of 147 thou. hectares) and barley (4 thou. hectares out of 872 thou. hectares). Winter rapeseed is sown on the area of 765 thou. hectares or 86% of the projected 888 thou. hectares.

Note: Ukrainian agrarians have harvested 35.1 million of grain and leguminous crops from 10.1 million hectares (68% of the areas).
