India imported 95% of sunflower oil from Ukraine

India imported 2.3 million tons of sunflower oil from Ukraine or 95% of the total imported volume in MY2017/18 (October-September), having increased this indicator for the season by 16%, APK-Inform reports.

This growth allowed Ukraine to become the second largest importer of vegetable oil to India in MY2017/18, shifting Malaysia to the third position.

According to Oil World experts, in MY2017/18 (October-September), India increased its imports of sunflower oil to 2.48 million tons against 2.13 million tons in the previous season (+16% per year).

In October of the current MY2018/19, large and medium-sized enterprises of Ukraine produced the maximum volume of sunflower oil for this period — 533.5 thou. tons.
