Passage of ships loaded with agro cargoes in Azov Sea unblocked

Grain transshipment in the Azov seaports Mariupol (Donets'k region) and Berdyansk (Zaporizhzhya region) is resumed and carried out as normal.

According to Vyacheslav Voronoi, Chief of the Port Operations Service at the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), internal working groups that were set up for interaction between seaports and Ukrzaliznytsia stations operate on a daily schedule and all necessary issues are settled promptly. To date, none of the terminals is restricted in the acceptance of cargo.

As of December 4, transshipment of cargo by seaports has already reached 37.2 million tons, which is almost equal to last year's figure for the corresponding period.

The Ukrainian Azov ports are planning to increase cargo handling by almost 800 thou. tons per year. For this, USPA continues the implementation of dredging projects.

Previously it was reported that 17 ships which were heading for the ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol had been awaiting passage through the Kerch Strait.

The Verhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament) supported the imposition of martial law from 2:00 p.m. November 26 for 30 days in the border regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsya, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolayiv, Donets'k, Zaporizhzhya, Luhans'k, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv.
