Wheat flour shipments dropped to 255 thou. tons

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports that Ukraine exported 255.8 thou. tons of flour by May 15th, 2019.

This volume is 34.9 per cent less than it was exported in last year's comparative period (392.6 thou. tons).

Since the start of 2018/19, wheat flour shipments amount to 254.7 thou. tons (391.1 thou tons in prior year's comparative period), whereas other types of flour — 1.1 thou. tons (1.5 thou. tons in the relevant period of 2017/18).

In 2017/18, flour exports reached 413 thou. tons.

According to Sergey Sakirkin, Chairman of the Audit Commission of the Union Millers of Ukraine, between 30 per cent and 50 per cent of the total Ukrainian flour production is in the shadow.
