Law enforcers announced first results of Agroinvestgroup criminal proceedings

Law enforcement agencies announced the first results of the criminal proceedings in the case of Agroinvestgroup at the meeting with the defrauded. This was informed by the meeting participant wishing to remain anonymous.
Apart from the representatives of companies-owners of grain, the meeting was attended by the First Deputy Head of the National Police Department of Economic Protection Sergei Viazmikin, the Head of the Legal Department of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) Andrei Potemkin, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Central Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
The first results of the criminal proceedings are as follows:
- at present, 18 companies have been recognized as victims in the criminal proceedings claiming a loss of 276 thou. tons of grain;
- by the new managers' order, surveying was conducted at the elevators (within April 10-16, 2019), only 30 thou. tons of grain were found;
- access to grain at the elevators is not granted to execute arrest warrants which affects grain quality;
- the criminal proceedings of the Security Service of Ukraine are carried out in parallel and independently, the consolidation of proceedings is not foreseen, since they investigate various episodes of the case (in particular, the Security Service investigates the episode with the financing of terrorism, that is, the export of stolen grain to the so-called DPR and the LPR).
“All grain must be sold, the money will be secured in the ARMA deposit account, and after the verdict it must be distributed among the victims in accordance with their claims. Criminal proceedings will be made available to participants for review (albeit limited),” said ARMA official Andrei Potemkin during the meeting.
The participants were provided with review information on the elevators and the grain found at each of them. After the meeting, the representatives of the National Police presented scan-copies of survey reports on the elevators.
