Ukrainian seaports twice reduced grain shipment

In the period of June 1-7, grain shipment from the Ukrainian seaports stood at 493 thou. tons, 49 per cent lower from the previous week (1,01 million tons), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

Shipments of wheat reduced to 167 thou. tons or by 42 per cent from the previous week. Barley was not shipped in the indicated period. Corn exports decreased 55 per cent to 326 thou. tons.

The top-3 importers of grain in the reporting period are Egypt (112 thou. tons), Great Britain (77 thou. tons) and China (72 thou. tons).

Previously it was reported that the 2018 record-high yield of grain crops in Ukraine increased the GDP growth by 3.3 per cent, a seven-year high indicator.
