Rapeseed cropping campaign started in Ukraine

Ukrainian agriproducers started harvesting winter rapeseed on the area of 4 thou. hectares. With a yield of 1.53 t/ha (2018: 1.61 t/ha), 6 thousand tons were threshed.

By the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of June 20 agrarians of Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions started harvesting early grain crops on the area of 130 thousand hectares.

By the reporting date, 404 thou. tons of new crop have been harvested with a 3.03 t/ha yield, including:

  • winter wheat — 49 thou. tons on 17 thou. hectares with a yield of 2.91 t/ha;
  • winter barley — 341 thou. tons on 109 thou. hectares (4% of the forecast) with a yield of 3.13 t/ha;
  • peas — 14 thou. tons on 7 thou. hectares (3% of the forecast) with a yield of 1.82 t/ha.

Previously it was reported that last year the first industrial garden of almonds was laid in Kyiv region. The area of the garden at the moment is about 105 hectares.
