Wheat harvest in Russia reached 60 million tons

As of August 26, 2019, grains and legumes in Russia were threshed on an area of 26.3 million hectares, or 56.2% of the total area. Grain yield reached 80 million tons using the average productivity of 3.04 t/ha (2018: 3.0 t/ha).

Of these, wheat was threshed on the area of 17.4 million hectares, or 62% of the planted area. 58.9 million tons of grain was threshed, using the average yield of 3.38 t/ha. Barley was harvested on the area of 5.6 million hectares or 63.7% of the sown area. Grain yield reached 15.1 million tons using the average productivity of 2.69 t/ha.

Sugar beet was harvested on the area of 68.7 thou. ha or 6% of the planted area. 3 million tons of sugar beet were harvested using the average yield of 43.43 t/ha.

Soybean was cropped on 66.7 thou. ha, or 2.2% of the total area. The oilseed crop amounted to 123 thou. tons (2018: 70.9 thou. tons), using the average productivity of 1.84 t/ha (2018: 1.27 t/ha).

Rapeseed campaign was completed on 254.6 thou. ha, or 16.2% of the total area. The yield was reported at 600.9 thou. t, using the average productivity of 2.36 t/ha.

Winter crops planting was carried out on 1.5 million hectares, 8.8% of the total.

Rapeseed planting for the harvest 2020 is underway in Ukraine. By the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, agriproducers completed 51 pct of field works, having planted 549 thou. hectares by August 23rd.
