Ukraine supplied blueberry to the UAE for the first time

Last week, a consignment of blueberries was shipped from Boryspil International Airport to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), CTS reports.

The shipment volume totalled 140 kg. Air delivery was carried out by FlyDubai Airlines.

"According to our information, this year the geography of Ukrainian berry supplies is expanding, although not the volume of these supplies. As forecasted, next season the volumes should significantly increase," reported the Formag Forwarding Company, which provided cargo transportation support.

The company also added that that was not the first shipment of berries from Ukraine, but the first shipment under the Ukrainian trademark. Before that, berries were shipped under the Private Label brand.

Previously reported that in the first half of 2019 Ukraine exported $116 mln worth of fruit and berry products, 16% higher from last year's value for the corresponding period.
