Drought affected rapeseed oil content — ViOil

ViOil finalized the processing of rapeseed in the new season. The company's plants processed 85 thou. t of rapeseed. Oil production reached 42%.

"In 2019, the oil content of rapeseed was unprecedentedly low. It was caused by the drought during the blossoming period of this crop," said Igor Gadomsky, Commercial Director of the industrial group ViOil.

The processors do not expect a shortage of rapeseed on the Ukrainian market.

On January 1st, 2020 the state regulation on non-refundable VAT to traders exporting Ukrainian rapeseed will come into force (the producers of this crop are not subject to regulation).

"Such measures will stimulate the development of domestic rapeseed processing. Ukraine will no longer be a raw material source and will increase high added value products output. Rapeseed oil and meal are in high demand in the European Union and China," noted Igor Gadomsky.

Previously reported that the ViOil subsidiary, Vinnytsya Oil and Fat Plant, started processing new crop sunflower. The company will process 1,000 tons of oilseeds per day.
