Agricultural exports from Ukraine hit another record high

In January-November 2019, Ukraine exported USD 20.2 bln worth of agri-food products. This indicator has already exceeded the volume for the entire 2018 when the record value of agricultural exports was USD 18.8 bln, the National Scientific Center Institute of Agrarian Economics of NAAS reports.

In addition, the historical record of supplies of Ukrainian agricultural products to the European Union has been updated. Last year, to the EU countries products and foodstuffs worth USD 6.3 bln were exported, whereas in January-November 2019 the supplies value reached USD 6.8 bln.

"Sales of grain crops (USD 8.6 bln), oilseeds (USD 2.3 bln), vegetable oils (USD 4.2 bln), waste of the food industry (USD 1.4 bln) and meat products (USD 0.7 bln) still bring the highest revenue to Ukrainian exporters," stated Nikolai Pugachev, deputy director of the National Scientific Center Institute of Agrarian Economics, NAAS.

According to him, since the calendar year 2019 is not over yet, all the listed indicators will grow, forming the final results of the domestic agro-food export, which will become a new benchmark for the industry.

As a reminder, crop production is the sector that generates the highest revenue in agribusiness. The study on the most profitable sectors of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex was conducted by the YouControl analytical system.
