Corn exports lose 5 pct in 2019/20 — projection

Corn export shipment from Ukraine in 2019/20 will be lower than in 2018/19. It is projected that Ukraine will trade 28.38 mln t of corn.

According to the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, the volume of corn exported will reduce by 1.45 mln t of by 5%, whereas in 2018/19, this indicator stood at 29.82 mln t. As of Jan.14, corn grain shipment totalled 13.14 mln t, 2.65 mln t more from the prior year's relevant period.
Analysts forecast a reduction in corn exports from Ukraine since January.
Ukrainian seaports have shipped 32.57 mln t of staple grains for export since the beginning of 2019/20. As of Jan.14, commodities shipment increased by 7.43 mln t YoY.
