Sugar sales volume by Astarta-Kyiv agri-industrial holding increased by 44% to 77.56 thou. t in 1Q 2020.

The average realized price fell 1% to 9.710 UAH/t.

Wheat sales decreased by 68% from 10.75 thou. t in Q1 2019 to 3.4 thou. t in Q1 2020. Corn sales went down by 17% to 235.9 thou. t (Q1 2019: 282.64 thou. t).

The average realized price dropped both for wheat and corn, 24 and 6%, respectively, to 4.591 and 4.465 UAH/t.

Sales of oilseeds dropped in the reporting period as well. Under the report, sunflower sales fell by 99% to 69 t. Sales of soybean oil were cut by 22% to 11.14 thou. t. Soybean meal trade remained at the level of 1Q 2020, 46.86 thou. t.

The dairy segment also demonstrated a reduction. Sales of milk amounted to about 24 thou. t, 9% lower from 1Q 2019, 26.02 thou. t.

As a reminder, due to weak global sugar prices, Astarta-Kyiv exports fell by 85% to 20 thou. t in 2019 (2018: 131 thou. t).Beet sugar industry in Ukraine (click for full resolution)
