Grain export 2019/20: corn shipment totals 29 mln t

Since the start of 2019/20, grain export shipment from Ukraine has reached 54.83 mln t.

As of June 5, agricultural commodities shipment increased by 7.58 mln t (16%) from the prior year's comparative period, 47.26 mln t, the information-analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

Grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 20.19 mln t (34% or 5.01 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 4.93 mln t (38% or 1.34 mln t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 29 mln t (4% or 1.18 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 8.2 thou. t (91% or 80.0 thou. t less y-o-y).

Previously reported that the Government considers grain export limits for the 2020/21 season. It was proposed to set the wheat export limit at 14.9 mln t, rye at 1 thou. t.

The Cabinet postponed the decision on corn export limit in 2019/20. The Annex 2 to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Economy Ministry and grain market participants was elaborated and considered by the parties.
