Vinnytsya region started early grains harvesting

Early grains harvesting started in five regions of Vinnytsya region, the Regional State Administration reports. Agriproducers of the region started the new harvest campaign with winter barley.

"As of July 3, 2020, 1.1 thou. ha of early grain crops were threshed accounting for 0.2% of the area of early grain crops to be harvested and 3.4% of the area of winter barley. 4.9 thou. t of grain were threshed using the average yield of 4.48 t/ha," the report reads.

The projected harvesting area of early grain and leguminous crops in Vinnytsya region is 414.1 thou. ha, including the planned area of winter barley harvesting of 32.8 thou. ha.

As of July 6, agriproducers of Kherson, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Volyn and Vinnytsya began harvesting early grain and leguminous crops.

Previously reported that winter barley was yielding from 4.5 to 7.1 t/ha in Donetsk region.
