Sea port oilseeds export dropped 12% in July

In the period of July 1-31, oilseed crops and derived products export from Ukrainian sea ports stood at 774 thou. t, 12% lower from June (882 thou. t  as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

Sunflower and products of its processing dominate the export structure in the reporting period: the shipment volume reached 576 thou. t. In particular, seeds export made up 2 thou. t, oil 368 thou. t (30% lower mth/mth), meal 206 thou. t (38.7% lower mth/mth).

As reported, soybean and derived products export amounted to 16 thou. t, in particular 1 thou. t of soybeans, 15 thou. t of meal.

Rapeseed shipment in July increased to 182 thou. t, 60x higher mth/mth.

The top three oilseeds and derived products importing countries in the reporting period:

  • India: 133.7 thou. t
  • Germany: 116.9 thou. t
  • Netherlands: 58 thou. t

In the 2019/20 season, the port of Mykolaiv provided for the transshipment of 5.66 mln t of the aforementioned products. The ports of Chernomorsk and Pivdenny (former Yuzhny) handled 2.32 and 2.10 mln t, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that farms in Rivne region have started winter rapeseed sowing. The oilseed crop has been planted on more than 3.5 thou. ha, accounting for 10% of the planned areas.
