Ukraine's July sea port grain exports intensified a third

Sea port staple grains export shipment from Ukraine in July totalled 2.49 mln t, 32% higher from the previous month (1.89 mln t, as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

Wheat export shipment in the reporting period boosted 6x to 1.3 mln t from June's 214 thou. t. Shipment of barley increased 7.4x to 956 thou. t. Corn trade shrank almost 7x and amounted to 224 thou. t.

The top three importers of grain in the reporting period are as followed:

  • Indonesia: 176.8 thou. t of wheat
  • China: 451.1 thou. t of barley and 71 thou. t of corn

Based on the current data from the ports, the port of Mykolaiv provided for the shipment of the largest volume of staple grains in July — 672 thou. t, the port of Pivdenny 619 thou. t and Chernomorsk 394 thou. t.

As a reminder, since the start of 2020/21, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine has reached 4.69 mln t. As of August 17, agricultural commodities shipment dropped by 1.67 mln t (26%) from the prior year's comparative period.
