Ukraine to export milling wheat to Saudi Arabia first in 12 years, tender won by Continental Farmers Group

Continental Farmers Group, together with the sole shareholder Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), won the tender announced by the Saudi state purchaser — Saudi Arabia Grain Organization (SAGO) for the supply of 60 thou. t of wheat.

Now the wheat is being loaded onto a Panamax-class vessel in the port of Chornomorsk, the company informs, and on September 17, the cargo is expected in Saudi Arabia.

Georg von Nolcken, CEO of Continental Farmers Group, noted that this supply, which is also the first direct export for Continental, is important not only for the company but also for Ukraine.

"I am sure that this is definitely a good indicator and a clear signal of serious investment intentions of Saudi Arabia regarding Ukraine," commented Georg von Nolcken. "It is also significant for us that the first direct export of grain grown in our fields and stored in our elevators will be brought to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — the homeland of our strategic investor SALIC."

Continental Farmers Group also notes that SAGO, which carries out public procurement for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has very high requirements for the quality of grain. This is being considered as an important step in the development of Continental Farmers Group, delivering its strategic targets, as well as the beginning of strong international cooperation.

As a reminder, SALIC was considering the purchase of a grain terminal in the Black Sea region.
