USDA set corn production forecast for Ukraine 22% down

In its November report, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) revised downward the forecast for the 2020/21 season's corn production in Ukraine by 8 mln t to 28.5 mln t (October report: 36.5 mln t).
As given in the report, the estimate for corn export from Ukraine in 2020/21 was also lowered by 8 mln t to 22.5 mln t vs. 30.5 mln t set in the October report.
Corn ending stocks estimate remained unchanged at 1.16 mln t.
USDA experts report that the global corn production is expected at 1,144.63 mln t, 14.19 mln t lower from the previous forecast of 1,158.82 mln t, and exports at 184.77 mln t, slightly higher on the previous forecast. Besides, the estimate of global corn ending stocks was cut by 9 mln t to 291.43 mln t (October report: 300.45 mln t).
As of November 9, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 72.8 mln t of main crops on 22.3 mln ha, of which grains and legumes total 55.3 mln t harvested on 13.8 mln ha, making up 90% of the planned areas.
