Food wheat export from Ukraine totals 8.9 mln t so far 2020/21

 As of February 22, Ukraine exported 31 mln t of grain and leguminous crops. Wheat supply came to 13.3 mln t, of which 8.9 mln t of food wheat, accounting for 67% of total wheat shipment. Corn supplies to foreign markets amounted to 13.2 mln t, the Economy Ministry reports.

"By our estimates, if we maintain the current pace of exports in the current marketing year, we will reach the indicators set out in the Memorandum. Currently, 76.1% of wheat has been exported from the planned volume. Corn export performance reached 55% in line with last year's seasonal trends," commented Taras Vysotsky, Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

At the meeting with agrarian associations, hydrometeorological events were discussed, the condition of winter crops, and the forecast of average monthly temperatures and rainfall.

According to the Ukrhydrometcenter, 92% of winter crops were in good condition at the beginning of winter. Despite temperature fluctuations, 80% of sown areas were sufficiently moistened and wintered well. A sufficient moisture resource for the spring period was also retained.

As of Feb. 19, staple grains export from Ukraine stood at 30.9 mln t, 21% lower YoY.
