Corn export from sea ports in Ukraine gained 3% in April

In the period April 1-30, sea ports of Ukraine shipped 3.4 mln t of staple grains for export, 3.1% more from March export volume (3.3 mln t as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.
April wheat shipment remained at the previous month's level, at 668 thou. t. Corn shipment increased by 11.4% mth/mth, to 2.7 mln t. Barley export plunged by 17.4x, to 11 thou. t.
The key export markets for Ukrainian grain in April:
- China: 868.1 thou. t of corn
- Egypt: 163.2 thou. t of wheat
- Turkey: 6.4 thou. t of barley, 60% of the total shipment
Since the start of 2020/21, the port of Mykolaiv has provided for the transshipment of 12.99 mln t of ag commodities. The ports of Chernomorsk and Pivdenny handled 10.2 and 7.5 mln t, respectively.
As of May 14, staple grains export from Ukraine 2020/21 reached 40 mln t, 23.4% lower YoY.
USDA in its May report put the forecast for wheat export from Ukraine in 2021/22 at 20 mln t, 17.6% higher YoY, and corn at 30.5 mln t, 33% above the 2020/21 estimate.
