Jan-May sunflower oil export from Ukraine slid by 29%: Customs Service

Ukraine exported 2.24 mln t of sunflower oil in January-May 2021, 29% down YoY (Jan-May 2020: 3.17 mln t), the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
The dollar value worth of sunoil exported is USD 2.64 bln, 14.8% above the previous year's comparative period (Jan-May 2020: USD 2.3 bln).
The largest importing countries:
- India: USD 802.4 mln, 30.3% of the total supply
- China: USD 415.27 mln, 15.7%
- Netherlands: USD 275.17 mln, 10.4%
- Iraq: USD 231.93 mln, 8.7%
- Spain: USD 181.89 mln, 6.9%
In May, sunflower oil export from Ukraine summed 467 thou. t, 1.3x up mth/mth. The FAO Vegetable Oil Price Index sustained a 12-month increase in May.
The Health Ministry of Ukraine adopted the maximum permissible levels for chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos-methyl in agricultural products and foodstuffs, including sunflower and sunflower oil.
