Sowing Online 2020/21: soybean planting completed on 1.39 mln ha

As of June 24, spring grain and leguminous crops were planted on 7.5 mln ha in Ukraine, which makes up 100% of the planned, the data of the Sowing Online project show.

Zakarpattya region planted 83% of the planned soybean area, Chernihiv 94%. Planting was 100% completed in 17 regions.

Planted areas in Ukraine as of the reporting date:

  • wheat: 176.02 thou. ha or 100% of the planned 176.6 thou. ha
  • barley: 1.35 mln ha, 97% of 1.39 mln ha
  • oats: 194.25 thou. ha, 100% of 194.05 thou. ha
  • peas: 245.42 thou. ha, 104% of 235.4 thou. ha
  • sugar beet: 227.14 thou. ha, 100% of 226.9 thou. ha
  • corn: 5.35 mln ha, 100% of 5.33 mln ha
  • sunflower: 6.48 mln ha, 101% of 6.4 mln ha
  • soybean: 1.39 mln ha, 99% of 1.4 mln ha
  • buckwheat: 78.51 thou. ha, 99% of 79.6 thou. ha
  • millet: 105.11 thou. ha, 90% of 116.8 thou. ha

Grains bulk yield in Ukraine in 2021 is forecasted 8.8% higher YoY by the National Scientific Center Institute of Agrarian Economics.

USDA in its June report put the forecast for wheat production in Ukraine in 2021/22 at 29.5 mln t, and corn at 37.5 mln t.
