Egypt's GASC purchased 60 thou. t of milling wheat from Kernel

The Egyptian national buyer GASC bought 180 000 t of milling wheat for October 15-25 loading period in an international tender, IDK.ru informs.

The purchased volume was formed by exporters from Romania and Ukraine.

The best FOB offer was made by a Romanian company, also it was USD 9 higher than the lowest offer in the previous tender of 18 August 2021. Offers from Russian exporters were less attractive compared to Romanian ones.

Wheat will be supplied by:

  • Grain Export: 60 000 of Romanian wheat at 308.5 $/t FOB and $29.6 of freight, 338.1 $/t C&F
  • Inerco Trade (a subsidiary of Kernel): 60 000 of Ukrainian wheat at 304.25 $/t FOB and $36.08 of freight, 340.33 $/t C&F
  • Archer Daniels Midland (ADM): 60 000 of Romanian wheat at 308.5 $/t FOB and $34.43 of freight, 342.93 $/t C&F

Wheat production in Ukraine in the crop year 2021 is projected at 31.2 mln t, 26% up YoY. As of 27 August, the export of grain from Ukraine in the season 2021/22 reached 7 mln t.
