Nika-Tera received first shipments of new crop soybean

The Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera, a subsidiary of Group DF founded and owned by Dmitriy Firtash, has received the first shipments of new crop soybean from producers in Mykolaiv region. The trucks delivered soybean contracted for export from Ukraine by the transport company Transco.

"Soybeans represent about 10% of the total volume of grains and legumes cargo transshipment at the port. We plan to load soybeans in shiploads throughout the marketing year. A total of 1.4 mln t of soybeans were exported from Ukraine in the 2020/21 season. We consider this market rather promising. Last year, Nika-Tera port handled 201.4 thou. t. of soybeans. Our priorities have not changed, we are still focused on expanding the structure of cargo handled"

In the 2019/20 season, the port provided for the transshipment of 512 thou. t of soybean, a record volume for Nika-Tera,

As of 16 September, soybean harvesting in Ukraine was 12% on 151.98 thou. ha. Soybean average yield stood at 2.29 t/ha (2020: 2.06 t/ha).

In the period January-August 2021, agricultural commodities transshipment at Nika-Tera summed 2.28 mln t, half of the total cargo transshipment.
