Harvest Online 2021: first million tons of corn produced in Ukraine

As of 23 September, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 46.4 mln t of new crop grain on 10.6 mln ha, 66% of the projected area. Early grain and leguminous crops yield 4.38 t/ha on average.

Under the data of the project Harvest Online 2021, new crop bulk yield:

  • wheat (winter and spring): 33 mln t on 7.08 mln ha (100% of the total area), using the average yield of 4.65 t/ha
  • barley (winter and spring): 10.2 mln t on 2.47 mln ha (100%), 4.12 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 2.91 mln t on 1.02 mln ha (100%), 2.85 t/ha
  • sunflower: 4.27 mln t on 2 mln ha (31%), 2.13 t/ha
  • peas: 583.37 thou. t on 242.7 thou. ha (100%), 2.4 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 1.25 mln t on 25.82 thou. ha (11%), 48.53 t/ha
  • corn: 1.1 mln t on 226.82 thou. ha (4%), 4.86 t/ha
  • soybean: 618.96 thou. t on 262.88 thou. ha (21%), 2.36 t/ha
  • millet: 134.04 thou. t on 56.89 thou. ha (73%), 2.36 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 75.04 thou. t on 46.69 thou. ha (66%), 1.35 t/ha

Wheat production in Ukraine in the crop year 2021 is projected at 31.2 mln t, 26% up YoY.

Winter crops sowing in Ukraine as of 20 September was 17% completed.

The USDA in its September report left unchanged the projection of wheat production for Ukraine and Russia, same as for corn production, export and ending stocks in Ukraine.
