October USDA: Ukraine's corn harvest projected shorter in 2021/22

The USDA projects the world corn production in the 2021/22 season 0.45 mln t higher at 1,198.22 mln t (September Proj.: 1,197.77 mln t). The global corn exports are projected at 201.91 mln t, 0.64 mln t above the September report. Corn ending stocks should reach 301.74 mln t, 4.11 mln t higher mth/mth (September report: 297.63 mln t).
In the October report, the USDA analysts cut the forecast for corn production in Ukraine to 38 mln t, 1 mln t below the September projection. Corn export from Ukraine in 2021/22 is forecast at 31.5 mln t, 0.5 mln t down. The ending stocks are put 0.2 mln t short from the previous projection, at 0.91 mln t.

This month’s 2021/22 world corn outlook is for shorter production in the key countries, 241 mln t in the October report vs. 242.5 mln t in September.
The projection for the major corn exporters in 2021/22 (October vs. September report indicators, mln t):

China's corn import in 2021/22 is projected at 26 mln t, production at 273 mln t, ending stocks at 209.17 mln t (September report: 207.17 mln t).
Corn harvesting in Ukraine as of 7 October came to 4.17 mln t using the average yield of 5.29 t/ha. The crop was 14% harvested.
