In January-August Ukraine exported 57 thousand tons of sunflower

Ukraine in January-August 2017 exported 57.01 tons of sunflower seeds for $23.28 million.

This is evidenced by the data of the GFS.

The main importers of Ukrainian sunflower in the reporting period were Turkey ($6.13 million), Germany ($3.02 million) and Italy ($2.35 million). Exports to these countries amounted to 15.02 tons, 7.39 tons and 5.9 tons of sunflower, respectively.

Let us remind, that the gross harvest of sunflower in Ukraine in 2017 will amount to 14 million tons, which is 6% higher than the previous estimate (13.2 million tons), but by 5.6% less than last year's indicator (14.8 million tons).
