Turkey imported 30k tons of Ukrainian sunflower oil in June
In June 2018, the maximum annual volume of sunflower oil of 30 thou. tons was exported from Ukraine to Turkey, APK-Inform reports.
A significant growth resulted from the reduction in Turkish import duty on sunflower oil from 36% to 23% in early June to August 1, 2018, which increased the attractiveness of this product.
Since July 2017, Ukraine's sunflower oil trade with Turkey was virtually non-existent, thus the country's demand was largely met by Russian oil, as well as by products from Bosnia, Romania and Bulgaria.
In September-June of MY2017/18, Ukraine supplied 37,6 thou. tons of sunflower oil to Turkey against 190 thou. tons over the corresponding period of the previous season, which is a 5-fold reduction.
