Grain exports reduced 694k tons since the start of 2018/19

Since the start of MY2018/19, as of August 29, 2018, Ukraine exported 5.02 million tons of grain, which is 694 thou. tons less y-o-y.

According to the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the crops were exported in the following volumes:

  • wheat — 2.63 mln tons (–142 thou. tons y-o-y);
  • barley — 1.28 mln tons (–561 thou. tons);
  • corn — 1.05 mln tons (–35 thou. tons);
  • rye — 13.5 thou. tons.

As of August 29, 2018, agrarians of Zaporizhzhya, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv regions began harvesting soybean. The first 40 thou. tons of grain have already been threshed from 14 thou. hectares (1% of the forecast) with a productivity of 2.77 t/ha.

34.3 million tons of early grain and leguminous crops are harvested from 9.9 million hectares (99.9 percent), with a productivity of 3.48 t/ha, buckwheat — 22 thou. tons from 16 thou. hectares (15 percent) with 1.37 t/ha of productivity, millet — 22 thou. tons from 15 thou.d hectares (29%) with a productivity of 1.45 t/ha.
