Cygnet sugar mill processed 206 thou. tons of sugar beet
In early December, the Cygnet Agrocompany sugar mill finished the production season. In 2018, the enterprise processed 206 thou. tons of sugar beet.
In 2 years, USD 3 million were invested in the plant. Due to the modernization of equipment, the productivity of sugar beet processing increased to 2.8 thou. tons compared to 2017. The consumption of natural gas has decreased by 10%. Thus, 28 m³ of gas are needed for processing 1 ton of beets.
During the season, the plant produced 28.7 thou. tons of sugar, the output amounted to 13.9%.
“We plan to develop in two directions. First, to increase productivity within 3-3.2 thou. tons of sugar beet processing, and second, to improve product quality. Next year we plan to bring the output of the 1st category sugar up to 100%,” said Andriy Osypenko, Chief Engineer of the Cygnet-Center sugar factory.
The facility started the production season on September 15.
