Pork imports to Ukraine increased five times

Over the year 2018, the volume of pork imports to Ukraine increased by more than 5 times. This is evidenced by data of the Meat-Inform analysts, UNN reports.

In 2017, Ukraine imported 8 thou. tons of pork (carcass weight basis), in 2018 — 44 thou. tons.

In total, by the end of 2018, Ukraine increased meat imports by 30.1% to 272 thou. tons. In addition to the main types of meat, lard and meat co-products are imported to Ukraine.

According to analysts, mainly these types of raw materials are used in the processing industry for the production of sausages and other meat products.
