January sunflower export from Ukraine valued at USD 2.25 mln

In January 2020, Ukraine supplied 5.17 thou. t of sunflower to foreign markets worth USD 2.25 mln.

As provided by the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (SCSU), key importers in the period are as followed:

• Georgia — 1.18 thou. t, USD 515 thou. (22.86%);
• the Netherlands — 814.8 t, USD 355 thou. (15.76%);
• Germany — 475.1 t, USD 207 thou. (9.19%);
• other countries — 2.69 thou. t, USD 1.18 mln (52.2%).

In the year 2019, Turkey, the Netherlands and Finland were the major markets for Ukrainian sunflower.

As a reminder, sunflower exports from Ukraine in 2019 totalled 82.25 thou. t worth USD 34.57 mln.
