Astarta's sunseeds sales slid by 61% YoY in Jan-Sep

Astarta-Kyiv agri-industrial holding cut its sunseeds sales by 61% to 19.97 thou. t in 9M21 (9M20: 51.15 thou. t). As per the company's report on the WSE, the average realized price increased by 20% YoY in the reporting period, from UAH 10.07 thou. per ton in 9M20 to UAH 12.04 thou.

Sugar sales were 18% lower YoY at 204 thou. t, the average realized price for sugar surged by 73% to UAH 17.6 thou. per ton.

Astarta's wheat trade reduced by 6% from 258 thou. t in 9M20 to 243.03 thou. t in 9M21. Corn sales were 55% below last year's, at 151.42 thou. t (9M20: 335.66 thou. t). A 41% drop was observed in the company's barley sales — 13.23 thou. t (9M20: 22.5 thou. t).

The average realized prices by crops:

• wheat: ▲22% to UAH 6.39 thou. per ton
• corn: ▲17% to UAH 5.67 thou. per ton
• barley: ▲23% to UAH 5.67 thou. per ton

Soybean oil sales by Astarta-Kyiv went down by 22% YoY to 24.44 thou. t, soybean meal by 18% to 83.41 thou. t. In the reporting period, the average realized prices for soybean oil and meal improved by 71% and 54%, respectively.

Milk production segment progressed by 2% YoY in 9M21. Milk sales reached 69.88 thou. t, the average realized price grew by 18% to UAH 11.68 thou.

Previously reported that Astarta-Kyiv launched a new investment project. The company invests around USD 50 mln in soybean advanced processing line.
