New crop campaign 59% completed in Ukraine, sunflower harvest starts
Early grain and leguminous crops were harvested on 6.6 mln ha in Ukraine as of August 25, which is 59% of the total sown area. The average yield of the crops made up 3.84 t/ha.
The Agrarian Ministry reports that the highest average yield of crops as of the reporting date was produced in Khmelnytsky region — 6.23 t/ha.
Producers have collected 25.3 mln t of new crop, including:
- wheat: 18.8 mln t on 4.6 mln ha (98%), avg. yield 4.08 t/ha
- barley: 5.5 mln t on 1.6 mln ha (99%), avg. yield 3.46 t/ha
- rapeseed: 3.1 mln t on 1.085 mln ha (99%), avg. yield 2.84 t/ha
- peas: 246.1 thou. t on 108.8 thou. ha (98%), avg. yield 2.26 t/ha
- millet: 9.1 thou. t on 4.1 thou. ha (9%), avg. yield 2.19 t/ha
- buckwheat: 2 thou. t on 1.5 thou. ha (1%), avg. yield 1.32 t/ha
- sunflower: 18.8 thou. t on 23.5 thou. ha (1%), avg. yield 0.8 t/ha
Agriproducers of Mykolaiv, Zakarpattya, Vinnytsya, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regions have completed early crops threshing.
Producers in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Odesa region have collected more than 2 mln t of new crop.
