Crop 2023: barley production in Ukraine crosses 5.7 mln t, crop 99% harvested

Early grains and legumes harvest in Ukraine was completed on 6.53 mln ha as of August 24, 40% of the total cropland in 2023. The crops yield 4.4 t/ha on average, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

Farms have harvested 28.77 million tons of grain, including:

• wheat: 21.93 mln t on 4.64 mln ha (100%), the avg. yield 4.72 t/ha
• barley: 5.76 mln t on 1.48 mln ha (99%), 3.89 t/ha
• rapeseed: 3.98 mln t on 1.39 mln ha (97%), 2.87 t/ha
• peas: 385.6 thou. t on 154 thou. ha (103%), 2.5 t/ha

Farmers in 15 regions of Ukraine have completed harvesting rapeseed.

Producers in four regions have started collecting buckwheat — the first average yield indicators are around 1.47 t/ha.

Peas harvesting has been finalized in 17 regions.
