Continental Farmers Group forms its own grain wagons fleet, first 50 already received
Continental Farmers Group is forming its own fleet of grain wagons. The company has already received the first 50 of the 250 planned 116 m³ hopper wagons.
The large-cube wagons will ensure maximum efficiency of their cargo capacity (up to 70.5 tons) for transporting all the main crops grown on Continental's fields. Under the contract, the company plans to receive the remaining wagons in several consignments over the coming months.
According to the CEO of Continental Farmers Group Georg von Nolсken, the decision to purchase grain wagons is the next logical step for the company after the acquisition of two new grain elevators. Continental expanded its storage capacity in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions in 2021 and 2024, respectively.

CEO of Continental Farmers Group
"We pursue our strategy of developing our own supply chain despite all the challenges posed by the current situation in the country. After Continental solved the problem of storage capacity shortage and even gained the ability to provide services for third parties, the acquisition of the wagon fleet allows us to continue to provide logistics for our own trading and develop this area of work properly"
The company expects that after the delivery of all 250 contracted grain wagons, Continental will cover a significant part of its annual demand for rail freight transportation with its own wagons.
