Winter grains planting in Ukraine 18% completed, delayed by severe drought

Winter crops planting in Ukraine for the 2025 harvest was completed on 1.8 mln ha as of September 23. As reported by the Ministry of Agriculture, the winter rapeseed campaign was completed in 5 regions: Volyn, Rivne, Zakarpattia, Ternopil and Lviv.

Sown areas by winter crops as of September 23:

• rapeseed — 862.2 thou. ha, 77%
• wheat — 878.8 thou. ha, 20%
• barley — 45 thou. ha, 7%
• rye — 20.7 thou. ha, 29%

For the 2024 harvest, winter crops covered 6.34 million hectares.
