Ukraine's Agrain to start wheat harvest in south by late June

Winter wheat in the fields of the Agrain Group has entered a critical grain filling phase. The plants are currently in the milk to early dough stages of maturity — a decisive period for yield formation, the company reported.

During this stage, the grain accumulates nutrients intensively, directly affecting its weight and quality characteristics.

“Favourable weather allowed us to carry out sowing within the optimal agronomic window. As a result, we achieved uniform and timely emergence — which is undoubtedly the foundation for realizing high yield potential,” said the company’s chief agronomist, Taras Kornienko.

According to him, if weather conditions remain stable, the winter wheat harvest in the southern regions may begin as early as the end of June.
