Ukraine tests Maritime Single Window system at Pivdennyi port — USPA
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has launched a pilot of the maritime module of the DocPort system — a national analogue of the Maritime Single Window (MSW) — at the Pivdennyi port, the agency’s press service reported.
The digital platform integrates all administrative procedures related to vessel handling at the port. MSW enables one-time data submission, significantly reducing formalities and eliminating redundant actions.
Following a successful test at Pivdennyi, the system is expected to be scaled to all Ukrainian seaports.
Key advantages of the Maritime Single Window include:
-
Improved port efficiency — the International Maritime Organization (IMO) estimates MSW can reduce vessel delays in ports by 3 to 6 hours;
-
Full digitalization of documentation — transition to an electronic format with automatic time and responsibility tracking;
-
Reduced risks — minimizing errors, manipulation, and corruption;
-
Cost optimization — lowering logistics costs by shortening processing times and simplifying procedures;
-
Compliance with international standards — meeting IMO’s mandatory MSW requirements effective from 2024 and aligning with European and global maritime logistics;
-
Improved coordination among state agencies.
