Ukraine scraps Agriculture Ministry in government reshuffle
On July 21, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers officially dissolved the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. The decision was announced by the government's permanent representative to the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
"The Cabinet decided to dissolve the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food as well as the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, transferring their responsibilities to the newly restructured Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine," the statement reads.
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine has been named the legal successor to the assets, rights, and obligations of the dissolved ministries. Liquidation commissions have also been formed for both entities.
The Ministry of Economy will be renamed the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
On July 17, Oleksii Sobolev took office as Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.
