Wheat yield at Cygnet Agrocompany reaches 7.3 t/ha this season

Cygnet Agrocompany has completed its winter wheat harvest, collecting a total of 13.8 thousand tons of grain, the company reported.

The wheat was harvested from an area of 1.9 thousand hectares, with an average yield of 7.3 tons per hectare.

“We began harvesting on July 11, but had to pause for four days due to rain. Nine combines were working on the wheat fields, with each averaging about 19 hectares per day. Yield was slightly impacted by temperature fluctuations in the early growth stages this spring. There was both snow and frost — not critical, but it did reduce the final result. In May, we counted 7–9 million productive stems per hectare, while at harvest time the number had dropped to 5.5–6 million,” said Oleksandr Shramko, Deputy General Director for Crop Production.

The harvest was completed on July 26.
