Ukraine to announce concession tender for Chornomorsk port terminals by year-end

By December 30, 2025, the Ukrainian government will launch a concession tender for the container and first terminals at the Chornomorsk seaport and decide on the feasibility of a concession project for the ferry complex.

According to the draft government action program, at least two port terminals in Chornomorsk are to be put up for concession by the end of 2026. The long-term concession, planned for 40 years, will cover a container terminal and a universal terminal with a potential capacity of up to 760,000 TEU and over 5 mln t of cargo annually.

In May, port director Viacheslav Bezruk said the concession project for the first and container terminals was in its final stage of preparation.

The feasibility study for the ferry terminal concession was developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The Ministry for Restoration began working on the concession of piers No.1–6 at the port in 2024.
