Ukraine begins corn harvest, early yields exceed 4 t/ha

As of September 5, 2025, Ukraine has threshed 28.7 million tons of new crop grain, with farmers starting to harvest corn, according to data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

Breakdown by crops:

  • wheat — 22 million tons (98%), average yield — 4.4 t/ha

  • corn — 1.9 thousand tons (0%), avg. yield — 4.16 t/ha

  • barley — 5.3 million tons (98%), avg. yield — 3.9 t/ha

  • peas — 610.1 thousand tons (97%), avg. yield — 2.3 t/ha

  • rapeseed — 3.2 million tons (101%), avg. yield — 2.55 t/ha

  • soybeans — 135.2 thousand tons (4%), avg. yield — 1.6 t/ha

So far, sunflower harvest totals 208.1 thousand tons (3%) with an average yield of 1.35 t/ha.

Farmers in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions have also begun harvesting sugar beets, digging up 36.4 thousand tons with an average yield of 40.9 t/ha.
