Ukraine plants nearly a third of planned winter crops
As of September 30, growers in Ukraine planted 2.515 million hectares of winter crops, accounting for 29% of the projected area, the Ministry of Economy reported. Winter grains are being sown across all regions of the country.
The breakdown is as follows:

winter wheat — 1.4 million ha (30.1%);

winter barley — 97,200 ha (16.9%);

winter rye — 37,900 ha (54.7%);

winter rapeseed — 941,100 ha (84.5%).
Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv are leading the planting campaign with the largest areas sown so far. The largest rapeseed areas have been planted in Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Mykolaiv regions.
