Producers harvest 2 mln tons of corn, enough for October exports from Ukraine — analysts

As of October 3, growers in Ukraine harvested 31.5 million tons of new grain, covering 65% of planted areas.

Breakdown by crop:

  • Wheat — 22.5 million tons (harvest completed), yield 4.5 t/ha
  • Barley — 5.3 million tons (harvest completed), yield 3.96 t/ha
  • Peas — 626.6 thousand tons (harvest completed), yield 2.36 t/ha
  • Corn — 2 million tons (10%), yield 5.08 t/ha

According to ASAP Agri, the accumulated corn volumes are comparable to Ukraine’s corn exports in October last year (1.9 million tons) and significantly exceed October 2023 shipments (1.1 million tons), indicating no real shortage of corn on the domestic market. Last year, the peak export period was from November to January.

Oilseed crops harvested so far:

  • Rapeseed — 3.3 million tons (harvest completed), 2.6 t/ha
  • Soybean — 2.2 million tons (46%), 2.22 t/ha
  • Sunflower — 5.5 million tons (58.7%), 1.83 t/ha

Sugar beet — 2.4 million tons harvested (25%), yield 48.5 t/ha.
